Python Math: Calculate the area of sector
8. Sector Area Calculator
Write a Python program to calculate the area of a sector.
Note: A circular sector or circle sector, is the portion of a disk enclosed by two radii and an arc, where the smaller area is known as the minor sector and the larger being the major sector.
Sample Solution:
Python Code:
def sectorarea():
pi=22/7
radius = float(input('Radius of Circle: '))
angle = float(input('angle measure: '))
if angle >= 360:
print("Angle is not possible")
return
sur_area = (pi*radius**2) * (angle/360)
print("Sector Area: ", sur_area)
sectorarea()
Sample Output:
Radius of Circle: 4 angle measure: 45 Sector Area: 6.285714285714286

For more Practice: Solve these Related Problems:
- Write a Python program to calculate the area of a circular sector given the radius and angle in degrees, and print the result.
- Write a Python function that computes the sector area by converting the angle to radians first, then applies the sector area formula.
- Write a Python script to compare the sector area of two circles with different radii but the same angle, printing both areas.
- Write a Python program to prompt the user for a circle’s radius and a sector angle, compute the area, and display the result rounded to 4 decimal places.
